The USB+AUX Cable connects an iPod to the Sync media system available in selected Ford, Mercury, and Lincoln vehicles.

Once the iPod is connected to the Sync media system...

• iPod content is displayed on the screen
  of the Sync media system
• the iPod can be externally controlled
  by the Sync media system
• the iPod charges while connected
  (when the vehicle is running)

In vehicles that do not have the Sync system but have an AUX jack and a 12v DC power outlet, you can use this cable together with an iPod compatible DC power adapter to play music and to charge the iPod. In this instance it is not possible to externally control the iPod using the stereo system in the car.
